Grooving Tool
I bought a set of 33x12.50 ProComps from Kevin yesterday. I decided to give the grooving tool that Harley donated to the club a try. With Kevin and George's help, we worked out a pattern. Since it appeared that the grooving would be a lengthy process, I brought the tool home.
I just finished the first tire. It took almost exactly an hour to do one tire. That included doing all the marking and then the grooving. It worked well.
In addition to the grooving tool, you will need a straight edge (a speed square works very well) as well as a marking device. I would recommend a paint stick such as a welder would use. I picked up a couple of Sharpie brand today and they did not work well. That may be because of the color. The yellow seems to work the best.

I am in the middle of swapping "picture taking" technology. My old camera died. I bought a new (used) one this week, but don't have the interface part worked out yet. I don't see an attachment section here in the chit-chat, so I am going to have to set up my vehicle section.
(Kevin is actually jerking my chain since I texted him a picture of the rig with the new tires.)

I was actually using my rig today. I even got some 4 low time yesterday. The whole time my rig was down, I was just dumping my lawn clippings into my utility trailer. Time had come to get it to the yard waste site. It had sat for so long that it took 4-low to pull it out. This morning I took it to the yard waste place. The bottom of the pile was the ugliest green gelatinous mess you can immagine.
I did find out that my trailer no longer sits level when hooked to the Trooper. Somewhere I need to find a draw bar with more than a 14" drop.
